Are you suggesting there needs to be a Ben Doe investigation?

If she has an ounce of integrity she would return all campaign donations to those who contributed as they were clearly raised under dubious circumstances.

Bumping the original Manski thread.

It seems PEOPLE are really interested in this topic.

Whatever would we do if we didn't know who these critical organizations were endorsing for office?

Citizen Dave wrote:But graduate schools don't just call you up out of the blue and say you're in! It's not like the Publishers Clearing House sweepstakes -- you plan for this.

So, the question is, if Sarah Manski knew that her husband had a good chance of getting into school out there, and she knew she would go with him, then why did she run for school board in the first place? And while she was running, why didn't she disclose that possibility?

Both Manskis have put transparency and concern about the process at the center of their careers. So why was it lacking here?

Ben Manski on uncontested elections

But you've got to wonder whether uncontested elections are good for Madison, good for Wisconsin, or even, in the end, good for Mark Pocan. It is not Pocan's fault that so many races are done deals. To his credit, he has made it a priority to field a Democratic candidate in every Assembly district in Wisconsin.

But for the Madison area, the reality remains the same. With no contest, there is no election. With no election, there is no accountability. And without accountability, well, who are these Madison Democrats representing, anyway?

Right after the primary election, Sarah Manski characterized T.J. Mertz - the sole candidate on the April ballot - as being condescending and sexist. I'd like to know if that description of T. J. Mertz is still operative. Perhaps Sarah Manski was expressing anger at something or someone else and T.J. Mertz just accidentally stumbled into her line of fire. Then again, perhaps she really meant it. Do voters need to take a closer look at this white, privileged uncontested male candidate before electing him to Seat 5 of the school board?

...asks the white privileged male who has never before endorsed ANYTHING Sarah Manski has said about anything or anybody. But now he's taking her campaign comments about Mertz very seriously. Really, Lawrence, your trolling has lost all subtlety.

And btw - I think you're wrong about another thing; Manski will still be on the ballot.

Stu, that suggests it once had subtlety.

I appreciate what BDog adds to the discussion. Meade is just a douche.

Will she be a candidate? Her name will be on the ballot - I understand that - but Mertz will be the only candidate whose name will be on the ballot. Right?

And btw, Stu - I think you're wrong about another thing: not taking Sarah Manski's campaign comments about Mertz very seriously.

@Westsidegal, I may be a douche but at least I'm not a name-calling douche.

(Also, I endorse what lukpac says right up there ⬆.)
