What bumper stickers are the most "Madison".

What are the things that puzzle, enrage, delight and tickle you as you go about your life in Madison?

Does your car have a bumper sticker?

Yes, of course!

That's a takeoff of one I like.

I see the "coexist" bumper sticker quite often. For some reason, it annoys me.

I've only seen this one once, but it cracked me up.

I see this one from time to time, and it strikes me as being typically Madison as I've never figured out what it really means, yet when I assume none of them exist any more, I spot another one:

"I'm a friend of Fran"

Unfortunately, I never spot them when it's convenient to ask the driver about it.

Google produces a lone reference (containing other references):

I'm really surprised these two haven't been said yet:

"CELEBRATE DIVERSITY"

"A Fair Wisconsin Votes NO!"

"No War but Class War"
"Mad Rollin Dolls"
"WORT"
"Free Speech TV"

There are others but mostly they cover the rust spots.

It's all about the pointlessness...

Back in the day my pal Thomas Blodgett cut up a bunch of 'Wisconsin - You're among friends' bumper stickers and re-combined them to create 'Wisconsin - mining fiends are among you.' (this was during the height of the whole Crandon mine business).

I was contemplating doing something similar to create a 'Celebrate Perversity' sticker.

Only I don't have a bumper to sticker, rendering the project pointless.

I am a friend of Fran.

I don't have the bumper sticker on my car, but it's around here somewhere.

About a year ago she was lamenting the fact that they are becoming a scarce sight (the 200 -?- a friend of hers had made were all doled out). Many of the cars they were stuck to are no longer on the road because so many of her friends drove beaters.

I'm not sure if it counts as a bumper sticker, but I like the "Jesus Fish" that has little legs and says "Darwin" inside...

I used to like those. But now I've seen the light:

Saw a good'un the other day: Still Pissed at Yoko.

I liked this one:

"You may say that I'm a dreamer,
I've been called worse".

Here's one I never saw anywhere other then Madison:

"U.S. out of North America" I always thought that was funny.

I've seen a lot of G.O.P. rewritten as "Grand Oil Party" which is particularly ironic to see on the bumper of an automobile.
