In the past I have gone to Casa del Sol, but it was way too crowded. Hard to get a drink. So tonight I'll celebrate with a snifter of Don Julio añejo. If only I could afford their 1942 on a regular basis.
My mother has retired to Jalisco, so I get a botttle of good tequila every few months. Never been a fan of 1942 or any other anejo; all that time in the barrels leave them tasting an awful lot like whiskey, which I can't stand. I do like reposados, of which the best available here seem to be Tradicional, Milagro, and Don Julio. Last night we sipped Tequia Arette, which is very good, but not as good as the Don Fulano we had last year, which is the best I've ever had.
