I have never seen a buck in the wild. Hundreds of does and fawns but never a buck, until 2 hours ago on the north side. I was just coming off Troy Dr where it turns into Green Ave by Mendota Mental health when a large buck shot across the road and stopped in someone's front yard. It just stood there looking majestic for a second and then slowly wandered into the bushes in the direction of the lake. I know not every antler tip counts as a point but it had to have 8-10 tips.
On a related note I was driving up 22 on Monday and just past Montello I came upon a farmers field with hundreds of sandhill cranes in it. In town I get excited to see a pair. At first glance I figured they were geese.
I tried to find that one animal thread (for this post) that had a single word name like EAGLES!....or BEAVERS! but I couldn't remember what it was.
