They're also getting rid of KBR, their subsidiary on the ground in Iraq. In addition, they're pulling out of Iran. They must know something that we don't. I'm not trying to say that war with Iran is imminent (I think the whole Iran thing is dangerous and stupid nationalist brinksmanship on both sides). There must be more going on there though. I don't understand exactly why they'd want to get rid of KBR, what with business booming and all. The only thing I can think of is that KBR is taking a lot of heat for hauling "Sailboat Fuel" (http://www.madison.com/post/blogs/dailybriefing/43218
and other such shenanigans, and Halliburton wants to get out early to avoid the shit/fan convergence.
I just feel like the whole thing has to be telegraphing something else. I'd like to know what it is, if only so I know where to put my money.
