Where any donkey with a gun is suddenly emboldened to be Walt Kowalski (Clint Eastwood's character in Gran Torino) when teenagers piss him off, and believes (correctly) he'll be backed by the rest of talk radio society.

OK, this last one was premeditated murder. If a gun hadn't been available, he'd have used a knife, or hit her on the back of the head with a shovel.

I don't own a gun, but if this thread is a response to the concealed carry legislation, I'm not sure what the point is. I suspect that most, if not all, of these examples would have occurred anyway. Which ones would have been avoided if only that law hadn't passed?

If on the other hand the point is that there is too much senseless violence committed by people with guns, well....that's not really news, is it?

Nah, I guess not. My point in adding an incident is we have way too many guns in this society, and to glorify them as problem-solvers or a means to a more secure life is ass-backwards. It's kind of a collection of "stupid tragic ways people mess up with guns."

We could drop this topic, or just continue to link incidents. Probably won't make any difference one way or the other, since people are pretty much dug in on both sides

It isn't about banning concealed carry of guns. It is about banning guns, period.

The responses say so. While you say nothing worthwhile and instead choose to be a troll. As usual.

Jason's example involve a hunting weapon that was stored inside a house. Most of Johnny's links are about rifles. Snoqueen admitted her example had nothing at all to do with concealed carry.

The posts speaks for themselves. This isn't about banning concealed carry, it is about banning guns. Not just handguns, but guns in general.

If you know a different way that all of these shootings would have been prevented, then feel free to share your idea.

Otherwise, you have nothing. As usual.

Get over yourself. Instead of assuming what people intend, ask them. Just because one points out the proliferation of guns in our society and the violence that results doesn't mean one wants to ban all guns.

Btw, I own a rifle.

No it's not.

Perhaps you'd be happier in North Korea or some other police state.

You're the one who is trying to make it about me. Try talking about the subject instead. If you can.

I'm not saying guns should be banned, but that does seem to be why this thread was started. If Jason, Johnny, Snoqueen, or anyone else want to explain what law (short of a ban on all guns, rifles and shotguns included) would have prevented these incidents from happening them I'm all ears.

My post was not about concealed carry. As I said, this issue is the culturally-embedded glorification of guns as a way to solve personal and interpersoal problems. Concealed carry is only a symptom.
