Last week it was Vermont, this week it's NY and Pennsylvania. Don't know how much coverage this is getting right now in Wisconsin, but it's truly mind-boggling.
Binghamton, NY has weather data going back to 1890. The city set its all-time record for daily rainfall just last year, on Sept. 30, when 4.7" of rain fell. That record was obliterated by the 7.5" of rain that fell yesterday.
The Susquehanna river at Binghamton just set a new all-time record (since measurements started in 1847) of 25 ft above baseline. (Flood stage is 14 ft).
That streamflow gauge is scheduled to be shut down three weeks from now (after 164 years of operation) due to budget cuts.
