Walker dies in fiery car crash

If it's news, but not politics, then it goes here.

Walker dies in fiery car crash

Paul Walker the actor. Did you think I meant Scott Walker? Sorry for the confusion but I keep seeing headlines about Walker's fatal car crash and I think of Scott first. I never heard of Paul Walker.

Paul Walker was in that series of instructive videos on how to be a complete asshole behind the wheel, otherwise know as the Fast & Furious movies.

I would have never wished death on the guy, but I think there's some serious Karma (or should we say carma) at work here.

“He was the most un-Hollywood Hollywood star I had ever met, no attitude, no ego,” Safran told The Times on Sunday. “He always felt that he was very fortunate with his life, and it was important for him to give back.”

JD Dorfman, operations manager for Reach Out Worldwide, said the "Fast and Furious" actor led by example. He was on the ground helping bring water and medical aid after the earthquakes in Haiti and Chile, and helped people get back into their homes after the tornadoes in Alabama in April 2011 by clearing debris with a chainsaw.

He was the “first one in and the last one out,” and the heart and soul of the organization he founded, Dorfman said.

i thought it actually may have been general walker, the fellow at which lee harvey oswald took a pot shot in april 1963 -- but i hear he choked to death on a bottle cap years ago . . .

walker, that is. mr oswald came home leaky about 48 hours after a widely publicised misuse of firearms a few months later

Not to speak ill of the dead, but a running joke in my family was to refer to any Paul Walker film with the coda: "starring Human Cardboard, Paul Walker."

Due to this Scott Tobias review/quote:
http://www.avclub.com/review/2-fast-2-furious-5584
"Paul Walker, the blue-eyed scrap of cardboard who reprises his role as an ex-cop turned gear jockey"

His corrugated campy career will be missed.
