Well, Wisconsin was the only ranked team to notch a win today, and they seem to be peaking at just the right time with their last two wins by 28 and 31. #8 Florida dropped one at Tennessee, #19 Memphis dropped one at Xavier and, wait for it, #1 Indiana dropped one at Minnesota. Sup, bitches? That means that if Wisconsin wins out, which would include a win at Michigan State, a heavy lift to be sure, we only need Indiana to lose one more and Wisconsin wins the Big Ten.

Seriously, what are the fucking chances? Wisconsin started the season predicted to finish in the middle of the pack of the toughest conference in the NCAA. Then they lost one of their starters for the season and their stock plunged. As of December, plenty of Wisconsin fans were wondering if we'd even make the tourney, myself included, yet we're now in a position to win the conference championship.

Wisconsin has: cake, @ #9 Michigan State, cake.

Indiana has: Iowa, #16 Ohio State, @ #4 Michigan.

Indiana will take one more loss. If we win at MSU, Wisconsin will win the Big Ten.

Wow. Bo Ryan is a god.

This happens frequently and then the Badgers get exposed in the conference tourney and the round of 32 in the big dance. Enjoy it while it lasts:) But yes, Bo Ryan is a miracle worker!

Of course, as of today, the Badgers are looking pretty good at a potential #4 seed, if you enjoy the statistical analysis below:

The game shouldn't be this hard. If the Badgers, and Jared Berggren, are committed to working the ball through the post, we'll make some serious noise in the tourney. If not, and we run into a well-coached, disciplined team at a time when our three-pointers aren't falling, we'll have an extremely difficult time making it past the first weekend. You live by the three, you die by the three-- especially with a team that has such a small margin for error.

Wow, that was horrible. The Badgers kept the Spartans under 60 by having no offense. For my personal hairshirt experience, I watched all of it. They have regressed all the way back to the Virginia game. Really, I can't think of a single positive other than they didn't completely stop trying.

I've got one positive: the Purdue loss doesn't hurt so bad. Seriously bad timing for the Badgers to begin falling apart.

Lack of a point guard really showed last night. Any team can win by playing good defense and hitting threes. That's easy. But that's not a great game plan or a great team.

What happens when you're not hitting threes is what counts. And the Badgers have no offense besides hucking threes. And what the hell happened on the boards? Christ, they even played Anderson and that high school kid (Bohanan).

Wow, that was ugly.

And lastly, when you're shooting under 20% for threes, guess what, its not a slump, it means you're a shitty long-ball shooter. And if you're a big man it makes even LESS sense for you to shoot threes (you're not under the rim grabbing offensive rebounds). Please, Berggren, please stop shooting threes.

I'm just a spectator, not a student of the sport, but this is what I don't understand about the no-matter-what love for Bo Ryan that Wisconsinites and basketball afficionados seem to have.

If the team isn't hitting the threes, shouldn't the game plan change to an offense that doesn't rely on threes? Isn't it Bo's job to teach players all facets of the game and to have them be able to execute all those facets? Shouldn't he be the one telling Berggren to knock off the outside shooting? And where's the consistency from game to game?

I love watching the Badgers when they are on their game, but when they're not, the routine of spending 25 seconds tossing the ball around and then attempting a 3 is numbing.

Nothing like a three pointer at the buzzer to put a smile on your face. At least when it's Bucky doing the shooting. Congrats, Bo. Another fun season. Tape up Berggren's ankles with heavy duty, extra-reinforced, professional grade, super duct tape and have at 'em in the playoffs. Might I add, just win, baby!

Leave the poor guy alone, it was a "professional misunderstanding."

The only people left that don't think this guy is a raging douchecanoe are the sycophantic Hoosier fans. In all seriousness, I think Crean has some deep-seated psychological problems.
