How does the NFC North play out now? I see the Vikes finishing 8-8. They beat Detroit and lose @Arizona and to Atlanta and the Giants at Home. The Bears finish 8-8 Beating Jax and Houston and losing to GB and NO. The Pack wins out and finishes 9-7 and wins the division. Am I on crack?

Detroit will get its first win of the season this weekend, and my pickup of Kevin Smith in my fantasy league will finally pay major dividends.

But no, I don't think you're on crack at all. GB still holds all the cards as long as they don't shove 'em up their own asses.

I think the only thing I would like more than a winless Lions team is a winless Lions team getting their first win against those asshats in purple tights.

I'm predicting a 3 way tie with Chicago, Minnesota, and Greenbay ending on 8-8.

The question will be how the tie breaker falls... I believe that in this scenario, if Greenbay beats Chicago we would have the tiebreaker. If Greenbay loses to Chicago, I'm not sure where the tiebreaker goes. If it came down to all 3 teams with an 8-8 record coupled with split games every time each team met, after considering overall division record (which most likely would be equal with split outcomes and everyone beating Detroit) I believe it then goes down to either common opponents or difference in points... anyone care to play out this scenario further?

1. Head-to-Head
2. Division Record
3. Common Games
4. Conference Record
5. Strength of Victory
6. Strength of Schedule
7. Combined Ranking Among Conference Teams (points scored and points allowed)
8. Combined Ranking Among All Teams (points scored and points allowed)
9. Net Points (common games)
10. Net Points (all games)
11. Net Touchdowns (all games)

If three or more teams in the same division finish with identical records, the following tiebreakers will be used, in this order, until a champion is determined.
1. Head-to-Head
2. Division Record
3. Common Games
4. Conference Record
5. Strength of Victory
6. Strength of Schedule
7. Combined Ranking Among Conference Teams (points scored and points allowed
8. Combined Ranking Among All Teams (points scored and points allowed

Yep, this is definately the way it will have to be played out... just so commentators can droll on about "if this happens then this but not this unless this and then that without this factoring in that" discussion. Really, it's the only thing left to make the NFC North fascinating anymore (at least that, and whether or not the Lions will go winless).
