Sorry man, not true. Soldier Field II, the smallest stadium in the NFL, was 66% public financed and 34% privately (the Bears owner). The multi-use stadium is owned by the City of Chicago and the Chicago Park District, which now receives rent from the Bears, and also revenues generated by operation of the facility. No tax increase nor tax extension was needed. Instead a hotel-motel tax mostly paid for by visitors was created. Also, like the Packers, they sold personal seat licenses to help finance the stadium.

This link claimed the stadium was 100% publicly financed, but that's not the real point.

Where the heck do you think the owners got the money to help finance the stadium? That's right, from a $100 million dollar NFL LOAN, a bank LOAN and the rest from the sale of PSL's. Isn't it your belief that the robber barons extending these loans are incapable of producing anything, other than a profit for themselves. Hypocrisy, thy name is Stella.

That is true my friend, but don't forget what an honor it was for the robber barons to make a loan to the charter franchise in the NFL, the Beloved Bear, the most victorious and most storied team in the league's history. Without Halas, the green and puke wouldn't exist today.
