Bicycle Rickshaw Needed

Postby ThreeFingerBrown » Mon Sep 14, 2009 4:34 pm

Does anyone know of a way, aside from visiting State St. and trying to flag one down in person, to get in touch with a bicycle rickshaw-ist? My fiancee and I are getting married on Saturday, and thought it would be a fun way to boogie from our ceremony to the reception (both within a few miles of downtown).

I've tried some web searches but haven't been able to come up with anything in terms of a "business". And we haven't had time to try and head down to State to make an in-person connection, unfortunately.

Thanks...

You might try looking for "pedicab."

There's a service called Il Corvo Pedicab at 608.886.4424; their Facebook page shows some pics of them doing just what you'd like to do.

Does Casbah still operate a rickshaw? Not sure if you have to take it to or from Casbah, or if they'll ferry you elsewhere.

The thing that might make it difficult to reserve one is that they cannot charge a fare due to city taxi rules. They only work for tips.

There's a guy on the 1100 block of Jenifer St with 2 of them. Usually parked in the front yard so couldn't miss them.

His name is Hunter, and if you go down to the High Noon this Friday for Gomeroke he'll probably be there. Buy him a Myers and Coke or two and he'll probably let you borrow one.

I rode one of his back from the Harmony after a Packer game last year with Hunter and his gal in the back. It was pretty tough sledding, let me tell ya - I have a whole new appreciation for rickshaw drivers.

It's a lot better than calling himself Dirty Sanchez.
