Packers vs Bears tonight!

Postby Stomach » Mon Sep 27, 2010 10:39 am

In the words of Canadian rock trio Triumph, "won't you lay it on the line".

Put up or shut up. Make your prediction here or you lose your right to talk smack until the next game.

I think the Bears get a lot of mileage out of Forte and Olsen tonight as well as a good game from their defense. However, Rodgers leads a late drive for a touchdown to come from behind and win 27-23.

Game ball to Donald Driver for 8 catches including the winning touchdown.

Increasing inebriation as darkness approaches. Beer gives way to whisky. Halftime nothing but a blur. Chances of viewing completion well below 50%.

Pack, 20-16.

The Packers have had trouble stopping the run in the first two games; they need to get Cutler into 2nd and long / 3rd and long situations early and often for Thundarr the Barbarian to do his thing.

On the other side of the ball, the Packers O-line has some health issues and Ryan Grant's injury only increases the pressure to keep Rogers upright and slinging the pigskin. On the plus side Rogers looks to be making better decisions regarding how long to hold on to the ball in the pocket.

And one of these games I fully expect Jermichael Finley to have a 200+ yard, 3 TD+ kind of output. It probably won't be this game, but it might.

Bottom line:

Packers 24, Bears 19

A healthy Urlacher, Briggs and possibly motivated Peppers rattle Rodgers early & often, Cutler effectively spreads the ball among his receivers, Forte and Taylor keep the Packers' D honest, and Bears' return game makes a showing. All resulting in a two touchdown lead by the Bears at halftime that proves insurmountable. Bears 27, Packers 20.

Has the makings of a great game.

Clay Matthews knocks Jay Cutler the fuck out in the 2nd quarter. Mike Martz spends halftime weeping. Lovie Smith consoles him with chocolate. Aaron Rodgers throws 3 TDs to Greg Jennings and Brandon Jackson runs for 12 yards on 16 carries. Packers win 27-10.

Even though we're on different sides of the aisle on this one, two points of agreement:

Who says Bear and Packer fans can't find common ground?

I feel the pain for the Packer running game

Packers 28, Bears 17. Cutler with 2 picks (one by Woodson), CM3 with 2 sacks, Jennings and Nelson have big games, and Dmitri Nance outgains Brandon Jackson.

Same dance different year...penalties.

I don't care if it's the corporate world, the military or athletics. This one thing is always true; lack of discipline is a reflection of lack of leadership.

McCarthy is a bloated waste of space and I would love it if he and Ted Thompson left Green Bay. Ever since McCarthy's arrival, the Packers have crept up the penalty ladder in the NFL exponentially.

Ha, the Green and Puke lose. But, they are good at running up the score in front of the red-faced dopes in Lambeau during the preseason.
