Sad, sad news... Ron Santo is gone:,0,1699814.story

It's a shame he didn't get into the Hall of Fame before passing. I hope Joe Morgan chokes on a hot dog.

It certainly is a sad day for me. I've always preferred to listen to the games on WGN. It won't ever be the same. Santo always reminded me of my grandmother, although she was always the pessimist to his optimist. I'm really going to miss the guy, not because he was a great color guy (he wasn't) but because he was a great Cubs fan.

This one hurts. A lot. I really prefer a color man that talks like a guy who's sitting at the bar with me, watching and commenting on the game. I will really miss the moaning on bad plays and the unbridled cheerleading on the good ones.

I hope that they finally will vote him into the Hall now. He certainly deserves that.......

For the folks like me that don't know baseball personalities very well.

Sorry to hear he is gone. I wish more stories of passionate and positive sports personalities appeared in the headlines much less, before their passing.

Santo wore his heart on his sleeve when it came to the ups and downs of a Cubs game. After one got used to him, he was great to listen to. I'm sad to hear of his death.
