Axford gives up two runs in bottom of ninth

Six blown saves in June, ten in July. Who woulda guessed they'd have few problems producing runs (they lead the NL in runs) without Prince Fielder? The bullpen is what cost them the postseason.

Their poor fielding didn't help.

Axford couldn't quite hit his stride this season. He was kind of a disappointment. I don't think Weeks ever was fully recovered from his injuries last season -- or at least hasn't trusted his body since then. Brauny was the fucking man all year -- Prince who?

My favorite Brewer this year was Aoki. That guy reaffirmed my love of baseball time and time again. Scrappy, fast, humble and can put a bat on just about anything. I kind of want to buy a Yokohama DeNA BayStars jersey to go along with my Nashville Sounds Jersey.

Axford actually rebounded well from his mid-season problems, other than today. He's not the worst culprit in the pen. If Melvin hadn't gotten cute and offered arbitration to K-Not, they are probably in the playoffs.

The team was just cursed this year. Considering the fact that half their starting lineup and a couple starting pitchers went down early, it's amazing they're even still in the conversation.
