What's wrong with the GOP, anyway?

Races for the Senate, U.S. House, etc. and other issues of national importance.

An Oconomowoc lawmaker wants to allow anyone with a concealed carry permit to bring guns into Wisconsin schools.

Currently, weapons are banned under state law on school grounds except for on-duty law enforcement officers.

But a committee is scheduled to vote Thursday on a bill that would allow retired and off-duty police officers to also carry guns in schools. Rep. Joel Kleefisch, R-Oconomowoc, would like to further expand the list to allow anyone with a concealed carry permit to take guns in schools.

Beelzebub's party are President Obama's best friends when it comes to mega-surveilance. Republican Mike Rogers, Chairman of the House Intelligence Committee said the French should be grateful to the U.S., "If the French citizens knew exactly what this was about, they would be applauding and popping champaign corks!" What's wrong with the GOP anyways?

Think the Tea Party and its supporters lost because they failed to repeal Obamacare and almost put our government into bankruptcy? They don't think so.

Tea party allies like the Club for Growth, FreedomWorks and Heritage Action for America showed their might by insisting that the GOP embrace the government shutdown that hurt the nation's economy and the party's reputation.

Now emboldened, these groups are warning that their aggressive agenda-pushing tactics aren't over — and they're threatening retribution against Republicans who stand in their way.

"They refuse to learn," Chris Chocola, a former Indiana congressman who leads the Club for Growth, says of lawmakers who buck the will of right-leaning groups. He predicts that his group will support primary challengers to more than a dozen Republican incumbents seeking re-election next fall.

So who will Republican voters in gerrymandered districts support, Tea Party candidates or more mainstream GOPers?

In honor of the anniversary of Rosa Park's 1955 arrest, the Republican National Committee declared that racism is over.

HOW MUCH TROUBLE ARE THE DEMOCRATS IN?

"The generic Congressional ballot is a pretty good proxy for the parties’ standing with voters. It is surprisingly volatile: you might expect that preferences for one party over the other would change slowly, over generations, but in fact the generic ballot number is quite sensitive to the news cycle."

"For Democrats, the bad news is just beginning."

"Undoubtedly the Democrats’ decline is driven by the Obamacare debacle, although other issues, like Obama’s feckless Iran deal, might also contribute.

The Democrats’ problem is that, while they may be able to fix the Healthcare.gov web site, they can’t fix Obamacare. Obamacare is destined to be a rolling disaster for the next year, as millions of Americans lose the health insurance and the doctors they like, and pay more for worse coverage. "

Yeah, I'm sure that will warm the hearts of the three, possibly four, people here who imagine that powerlineblog.com is a credible source of information.

The 2016 elections are going to be full of quotes like that.

When we're talking about climate or minimum wage, they cry and rant about alarmists and chicken littles.

OBAMA HITS RECORD LOW IN REAL CLEAR POLITICS' POLL OF POLLS

"The Real Clear average on Obama's handling of the economy is even more dismal. Only 37.1% approve, a full 59.3% disapprove."

This Washington Post opinion piece hits it on the head: The GOP might as well be dead

It details how not only has the GOP lost the black vote, but the Hispanic vote as well. The future looks dim for them, unless they can continue with their gerrymandering and voter suppression.

So, this thread is not only about what's wrong with the GOP, it is also about GOP drum-beaters who will believe and profligate whatever a fellow GOP drum-beater is saying, however vapid, as long as the content is anti-Democrat.

Which is, of course, what is wrong with the GOP. Thanks for staying on topic, Rich Schultz.

"When a 78-year-old Jewish woman was walking down the street in Brooklyn earlier this month, the last thing she expected was to be punched in the face. Tragically, that's exactly what happened. The elderly woman was apparently the victim of what authorities are calling a "knockout game" -- where, according to police, an attacker or attackers aim to knock out a person with a single sucker punch. It is an alarming trend that is spurring outrageous incidents across the country. It is deplorable, reprehensible and inexcusable. It is insane thuggery, and it is unequivocally wrong. These kids are targeting innocent people, and in many cases specifically targeting Jewish folks. We would not be silent if it were the other way around, and we will not be silent now. This behavior is racist, period. And we will not tolerate it."

Rich is willing to disparage a large subset of people because of the actions of a few, all based on race. Tell me that isn't racism.
