"enhancing revenues"? Is that a leftist democrat-ism for raising taxes?
OK, so if we confiscate 100% of everyone making over 250K/year, how many years, OK, months, ok weeks....OK, days will that amount cover the present obama spending spree?

I think it's something like 8.5 days.

then what, my little corporation called snoqueen?

That would help reduce the growth of the national debt.

So by forcibly taking more money from people that have earned it, it will slow the "growth" of the spending that politicans in DC?

Leftist Democrat.

The "tax cuts" have been a LAW for a while.
So this is now and has been, 'normal'. Why isn't what's proposed then stated, more accurately, as for what it is, "tax increase"?

Cornbread, the law was supposed to expire in 2010. That do nothing President that you like to blame extended the Bush tax rates for two more years.

It was George W Bush that put an expiration date on this law yet you blame the "leftists."

The Bush tax law may be the single worst piece of tax legislation in a very long time. The reason is ... it set tax rates 10 years ahead when no one had any idea what our political and economic landscape would be. The tax rate should be adjusted as needed (or as the party in control can pass). It sure shouldn't be set 10 years in advance.

So....were the democrats in Congress for letting the tax cuts be permanent? ;) Having a 'sunset' is a way to get the opposition/fence straddlers to vote for it.

Doesn't law start in Congress, and the exec branch (prezzie) only sign it into law? Well, other than obama and his thrown. He don't need no stinkin congress.....nor the supreme court. :D

I think you may be onto something very important, very fundamental.
Budgeting is what one has at the moment, spending at the moment, then all else is an assumption about what will take place in the future. You think the very nature of having to assume things about the future is risky, so economic laws should be as short in duration as possible, giving congress the ability to change as circumstances may or may not change?

So how then do you feel about obamacare? He did promise to fundamentally change this nation and that piece of sleight of hand legislation is that.

Third grade stuff. The answer is readily available by the Google, and the question isn't as rhetorical as you think. Check it out.

Good thing for America that he also lied about this promise. Our economy would be fucked even more if the President started punishing the job creators.

Walker gave away hundreds of millions of dollars in tax credits for Wisconsin corporations well over a year ago. Where are the jobs?

Cha-ching! Another 50 cents for butters.

You do understand that the President doesn't pass laws, right? I mean, if the President says, "I support raising capital gains taxes to 20%" all he's really saying is that he'll sign the increase if it makes it to his desk. If congress never sends him the legislation, he can't very well sign it, can he? You know that, right?

BU$H gave away the bank to the "job creators" and they gave us this recession. Kind of bizarre that anyone would support more wealth redistribution to the top while experiencing a severe recession that is the direct result of the same policy.

For the first time in U.S. history, Bush cut taxes during wartime. Instead of taxes paying for the war, the U.S. sold bonds instead (mainly to China). The interest on that debt is staggering.
