Beltline Traffic Cams?

Postby barney » Wed May 02, 2007 11:01 am

Anyone know where to find the feeds for the Beltline traffic cams online?

I scoured the DOT's website, but can only find traffic info for Milwaukee.

I searched high and low for web feeds of these a few months ago to no avail.

They do appear to be available on channel 12 in the morning...

They're not available online right now. WisDOT is working on adding Madison beltline camera images to the currently available Milwaukee mix. Some day they'll likely show up here http://www.dot.state.wi.us/travel/, along with other cameras in use in Wausau, Green Bay, St Croix County (Twin Cities suburbs of Hudson etc.). For now, Wisconsin traveler information is a fractured, hard to use mess.

Okay, so they're already up and running again. http://www.dot.wisconsin.gov/travel/madison/ What follows is a blurb about it from WisDOT.

---------------------

Keeping an eye on Dane County area traffic. Drivers planning a trip through major travel corridors in the Dane County region can now check up-to-date images of traffic conditions via the WisDOT Web site. Similar to traffic cameras that have been operating along Milwaukee-area freeways for years, drivers can now access a network of 22 video cameras that monitor traffic volumes and conditions at key locations in the Madison area. Updated every three minutes, the video images can be found at: www.dot.wisconsin.gov/travel/road/. The camera images are centrally monitored at WisDOT's State Traffic Operations Center in Milwaukee and help transportation and law enforcement officials react promptly to incidents that impact traffic flow.
