Leather Repair Shops

Postby MadMind » Wed Nov 21, 2007 1:16 pm

Can anyone recommend a reliable, reasonably priced leather repair shop in Madison?
Wilson's tried to send me off to Tuffs on Monona Dr, but I don't think they're in business any longer.
I just need to get some buttons sewed back on, and maybe my pockets patched if it isn't too pricy.

Try "Look At That" on Williamson across from Star Photo. It's more of a fetish & biker gear shop but they do leatherwork & repairs and they do quality work.

Look at that site, indeed! I can't begin to count the instances of ugly going on there. It makes the base of my brain hurt!

And to top it off, the developer proudly displays his company name on the fucker! Look at those balls!

Cecil's West moved from Mineral Pt Rd. a couple years ago. They used to have at least three store a few years ago but now are down to just one. Family owned. They are at 6717 Odana Rd now. He is the best around.

I used him many times to fix my leather jacket and resoled my good dress shoes. They do zippers and purses as well. Check it out. If you go, see if the cat is still there.

If you're on the east side, Heel & Sole on N. Sherman. I've had repair work done there. Good and reasonable, and quick.

I ended up taking my coat into Look At That!
4 buttons sewed back on = $10
2 new pockets = $38 w/material & labor.

I love the new pockets, yet the repairs still cost a bit more than I had hoped.
I could've had Wilson's sew the buttons back on for free, but I would've had to wait an extra week.
