Canada's going to quit minting pennies. Once the current supply runs out, people will just have to round up or down. It costs 1.6 cents to make one penny and they figure it's not worth it.

What a sensible country....

Seems like I remember somebody on the TV saying in passing that it costs more to make a penny and a nickel than they're worth.

I can see us getting rid of pennies but I still go chasing after a nickel when I drop one. Most of the time.
