Used furniture?

If it doesn't fit anywhere else, it fits here

Used furniture?

Postby markkay » Mon Jun 04, 2012 1:37 pm

Where are the best places to go in town to look for inexpensive used furniture? St. Vinny's on Willy St., of course, but where else? Checked out the Goodwill store near east town mall, but they didn't have much furniture.

Try Dig 'N Save 1900 S. Park Street

Where ever you buy, check for signs of bedbugs.

There are others -- those are just two off the top of my head. Check the paper edition of Madison Newspapers, classified section, on Thursdays before the weekend you would like to shop.

Here's a less-known thrift store that sometimes has good merchandise:

MY yard sale, this saturday. I'll pretty much be giving away most of my furniture, or selling it very cheaply. I wish I could keep the kitchen table I made using only hand tools but it isn't practical. I doubt I'd get more than $100 for it, either. Oh well.

Check out the craigslist ads for this weekend. I'm in the Allied/Dunn's Marsh neighborhood, come on by.

Thanks for all the leads! Not really sure what we need, but we'll know it when we see it -- a sort of sideboard, buffet, smallish utility table, or some such thing.

All of the Goodwills in Madison turn furniture over frequently, you can check each a few times per week and find new things.
