Worst possible song to get stuck in your head

If it doesn't fit anywhere else, it fits here

If it had been something from Phil Phillips "Sea of Love" from the 50's it would have cool. But the American Idol Phillip Phillips is boring as all hell and there were at least a half dozen other contestants more worthy of winning.

"The Wreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald." And no, I will not link to it in any medium.

The Jersey Boys ads have dwindled but the one that's left has the first few bars of Cheri Baby and my mind just takes off with the rest for days! I wonder if I play through it on You Tube, maybe I'll get it out of my system...

Either you're demented or weren't around during the not-brief-enough disco era.

Any of the dozen or so tunes in heavy rotation on pick-your-top-40-radio-outlet, which are, of course, being played because of their melody hooks.

How anyone can work at a business that has Z-104 on the house system, I have no idea.

Oh Dangerousman (aka Disco Stu or Dr. Demento:)
You supply so much fodder for my idiotic brain to reply to!

"Fish Heads" (1979), need I say more?

OK, I'll say more ... lyrics begin at 2:18, but I thought ya'll deserved the full video version. Please, no comments about U Dictionary;)
that's not what I'm looking for. Thanks in advance!

Una más, this song reminds me of SNL in the early 80s. The cool kids in my school got to stay up and watch it, or owned VCRs so they could tape it. They came to grade school singing the song, and I had no clue, but it would always get stuck in my head and stayed there thruout the years. This Buds for you, J Happs (and lil' J Bro)!

That's one of my favorites. Bill Mumy is a renaissance man.

Fully agree. In my long ago youth my parents took me to Disneyland when the Small World ride was new. On our circuit, the sound was malfunctioning, but the overall sweetness quotient was still sickening. As our boat emerged at the end of the ride, the Disney employees asked if the sound had been off and when that was confirmed, they sent us back through. Even worse with the sound.

And D-man: to rid your mind of KC & the Sunshine Band swill, I suggest listening to Rob Zombie's version of "I'm Your Boogieman," another KC&tSB song. It was a staple at the rink when my son was in youth hockey, and it's a fine bit of meaningless anti-disco.

Worthy contenders here to be sure, but my vote goes to that awful 4 Non Blondes song that leaves me wanting to smack the whiny bitch "singing" it.

If vapidity is an art form, this thing is a masterpiece.

You just haven't heard the good version of it.

At least make it until approx. 1:25 for the Skeletor part.

I've always liked the song Fish Heads, Rob Zombie's version of Boogie Man is certainly better than KC's. Nothing against KC, he just wanted to make fun music, but disco got monotonous very quickly. I think there are about a dozen decent songs of the disco era that have survived the test of time and the rest have rightfully fallen into the dustbins of history. I've kind of liked that What's Going On song, but it's one I hear infrequently. Probably better that way.

A couple more songs I really don't want in my head: "A Horse with no Name" and "American Pie."

One I like in my head: Whole Lotta Love

4 Non Blondes.

Or "Plush" by Stone Temple Pilots.

Or "Jeremy" by Pearl Jam. Or "Daughter" by Pearl Jam.

Or "Unskinny Bop" by Poison.
