In hindsight, it seems quite logical. Drive in, hook yer electric maple syrup siphon pump up, transfer 3.75 million liters or so into your own barrels, and drive away nonchalantly.
Seems they put all their money into quality control to insure the syrup would keep well, and would be able to track each barrel back to the grove it was tapped from. Very little went to security, apparently.
