Cornbread's dream woman

If it doesn't fit anywhere else, it fits here

Cornbread's dream woman

Postby Shorty » Mon Sep 03, 2012 8:41 pm

If Cornbread likes Australian women I found a good match for him. Australian Gina Rinehart sounds like quite a catch. With $19 billion USD she is the world's richest woman. She is single (once divorced, once widowed) and sounds very nice and kind, also. She thinks poor people should have less fun and work harder, and the minimum wage should be lowered. She well represents the 1% which Cornbread so cherishes and supports. Her kindness and wealth are exceeded only by her beauty which can be seen in these photos (viewer discretion advised, not for the easily offended):

"If you're jealous of those with more money, don't just sit there and complain," she said in a magazine piece. "Do something to make more money yourself -- spend less time drinking or smoking and socialising, and more time working."

I would add spend less time on TDPF.

What if you are NOT jealous of those with more money? Then what?

I think then it's okay to be angry with their greed and, as in this case, the implied statement that although their money came from birth and marriage entitlements, they think they built it.

If you are not jealous or angry at billionaire's who inherit wealth and then tell poor people to work harder, then enjoy your life in the lower class Serfdom as the rich rule you.

Meade old boy, don't trust this woman. If you sit there and complain you will see your income skyrocket.

Shorty, it sounds like you are saying I shouldn't enjoy my life because there are people who are richer than me. Is that how you live? If so, I feel sorry for you. We are living in one of the best of times and you still seem unhappy. Chuckle up, Shortman, you only get one shot above the sod.

That's not what I said. if you can't understand that, i feel sorry for you. And why do you think this is the best of times? We have recession, global warming, wars in the mid East, disappearing middle class, large wealth inequality, and erosion of democracy.

Whoa, Mr. glass is almost empty. Here are some of the reasons that these could be considered some of the best of times. Grocery stores always filled with enough to eat and more. When was the last time you went a week without food? Plumbing and sewage systems that flush your shit away with one pull on a handle. Health care miracles that could hardly be dreamed of 50 years ago. A/C and heating to keep your sorry ass from sweating too much in summer or freezing too much in winter. Automobiles that put flying carpets to shame to haul your ass around to where ever you want. A society with free education for all. TV and the internet for instant information for everyone. I could go on, but contrast these times with WWI or WW II or the Civil War. The depression, the plague, the typhoid epidmic, all where worse than today. I can't name anywhere they burn witches these days. The iron maiden is permently unemployed. Woman vote. People can't be property anymore. Despite all of your bitchin' to the contrary, life is pretty good these days. All in all, these are the best of times.

I more or less agree, but is that your strawman? B'cause if you think all that sustains itself without collective effort and fortune well...here we are.
