Welly, welly, welly, welly, welly, welly, well.

If it doesn't fit anywhere else, it fits here

Welly, welly, welly, welly, welly, welly, well.

Salon Sells The Well to Longtime Members
By NICK WINGFIELD

One of the earliest online communities, The Well, has a new owner: its members.

From the outside, The Well almost seemed Applish to me, if that's a word. I have no doubt that they were very early adopters and probably all very smart, but that was a long time ago. Plus they just don't have to be so dang smug about it.

Here is a quote from a member, as written in a g̶o̶s̶p̶e̶l̶ article (it is an interesting read though) from Wired:
Wired, May 1997 - The Epic Saga of The Well [wired.com]

I fell in love. Instantly, effortlessly, irretrievably. With the WELL. So _here's_ where all the brilliant people have been hiding out, I marveled. Because all my life, I'd felt like a misfit. While other people talked about sports and mileage and the adventures of their favorite sit com characters, I longed to talk about books and ideas. I mean I could talk other-people-ese with the best of them (I'm good at dialects) but I longed for people whom I didn't have to translate, with whom I could speak my own language. The WELL abounded with these people. Although it never quite dawned on me at this stage that they _were_ people. More like penumbra.
