Websites You Like

Postby john_titor » Thu Nov 15, 2012 8:47 pm

In a rut of the same four sites. Looking for links to sites that currently have your interest. As long as I am asking; to what magazines do you subscribe?

My sad, work-friendly self:

Here
Google News
Slashdot
Fark

Magazine: Wired & Isthmus (if it isn't all gone)

madreads

I subscribe to Runner's World.

Their website is pretty irritating.

Runners can be pretty irritating. Cmon now be nice, just being honest.

I am a big fan of Dane County Libraries.

What is the turning point for running? What do I have to do to make it a habit I look forward to? I have contemplated jogging, but it seems like winter would suck and I usually don't get past a few weeks.

Boingboing.net looks promising. Thanks!

Websites :
The Gaurdian
National Journal
Politico
Reuters
OpEdNews
Wisconsin Watch.org
CapTimes
Propublica
Channel3000
Business Insider
Center for Media and Democracy
Salon
Etc...

Mag's:
I still find a way to keep a subsciption to The Economist with some air miles let over with United. And I will try to find enough change under some cushions to renew my subsciption to the Financial Times. Oh, and I recently subscibed to Outside magazine but I don't like it like I used to as it seems like a print pub laid out like a web page.

Magazines:
I keep up subscriptions to the Economist and the New Yorker but I've got a good stack of back issues that I haven't fully read. I also have been reading Razorcake for a few years now. And Rolling Stone, though I don't recall renewing my subscription for a long time.

Websites:
I check out the Isthmus and Dane101 for local news, the AV Club, Pajiba, and Warming Glow/Filmdrunk for pop culture, and the SBN blogs for sports.

I get posts for the last one on Facebook which makes me visit more often. The first two are just for fun.

I like AV Club, FARK, The Gear Page, all the lefty brainwash politics sites, Daily Beast, Gizmodo, ESPN's NFC North Blog, and Channel 3000.

Something died when they moved to the regular magazine format.
