Best vet for low-income people?

Postby zeropoint » Sat Nov 24, 2012 6:16 pm

Hi all--

I'm on SSDI and therefore very low-income. My cat needs his annual, and I also think he has a UTI so I want to get him checked out for that. (I've read a lot about home remedies for that, but since he's never presented with these symptoms before, I want to take him in for sure.)

I live on the near-east side but am willing to travel for good, affordable pet care. From what I've read, some vets will allow lower-cost vets to fill their prescriptions, but I haven't come across any vets with sliding scales or anything like that as far as the actual exam/shots go. It's probably just a pipe dream that they exist, but I thought it was worth a try.

Who would you recommend for really good care but without paying a ton?
