HOW can XP be so BLOODY STUPID?

Wiis, PlayStations, iPads, blogging platforms, Facebook and anything else worthy of buzz in the digital world.

I tried using Linux for a while, but web browsing made my eyes bleed, because the fonts always look like crap.

Windows works "good enough", thats why I use it. And, I can't stand all those smarmy tuggers who are always ranting on and on about their macs. A round mouse with only one button? bite me!

Anybody else using Ubuntu Linux (the Fawn version)? For ordinary use (not work requiring proprietary software or for game playing of course) it is the slickest system I ever tried. Autodetects EVERYTHING, automatic security updates, downloads compiles and installs new programs from the Debian archives with two clicks.... the other night it automatically installed a new kernel while I just sat and watched.

And web browsing: I think Firefox has the text thing fixed now -- I haven't seen those broken-up fonts in a long time, and you can select whatever text size you want straight from the keyboard, overriding what the page design calls for. This has been true since several back versions of Mozilla.

Do some research on this one.

Nothing worse than someone complaining about Mac users and using this as the complaint.

Now it's a 4 button mouse. Left right. scroll click (default brings up the dashboard) and squeeze (default to expose which is the slickest thing ever recently ripped off half assed by Vista)

If you ask me, anyone using a mouse, no matter what their OS, is a jackass.

Why everyone hasn't climbed on board the trackball wagon is completely beyond me.
Why, it just sits in one place, just like every other fucking thing on your desk!
Would you buy a stapler that hopped around?
A tape dispenser that wandered from side to side?
A monitor that you periodically had to re-center?
Not to mention that there's no question what the plural of trackball is.
Simpler all around.
WAKE UP, PEOPLE!

I spent money on a track ball once.

It was one of those where the thumb moved the ball around so the ball was kind of on the side, and your other fingers and palm rested on top.

Suffice it to say, it was difficult to use left handed.

But you have no trouble with a regular mouse? Hmmmm...

Anyway, all your problems have been solved.

I was scanning the event logs on a recently purchased non Apple machine running XP pro, when I noticed something way fucked up. It said my recording program Cubase had crashed on Tuesday when I hadn't used it since Sunday. I always close the app so it wasn't left open.

Nice. I'm sure Vista will fix that.

I agree the Search function on PCs sucks BUT, there are many FREE alternatives.

Try "Agent Ransack". I use it a and love it.
