Gaming in 2008

Wiis, PlayStations, iPads, blogging platforms, Facebook and anything else worthy of buzz in the digital world.

the PS3/360 versions are of a higher graphical fidelity, the Wii mode ads some 2 player stuff, and the PS2 version even goes so far as to add more levels. Still, I want the one that looks, sounds, plays best.

Force Unleashed demo is on PS3 and 360 right now.

I threw a tie fighter at a guy. I hope this isn't the only level you can do this in, because I want to throw more stuff at people. Lightsaber moves are fun, but not as fun as chucking stuff across a room or hallway so far you kill guys before they notice you're there.

Did Xbox Live just start limiting new demo's to gold memberships?

Rock Band 2 (Xbox360 initially, PS2, PS3, Wii to follow)
Midnight Club: Los Angeles (PS3, Xbox360)
Fracture (PS3, Xbox360)
Tom Clancy's Endwar (PS3, PSP, Xbox360, DS)

I'm actually not that interested in the majority of those titles.

A few of the games I'm interested in are Dead Space, Banjo Kazooie: Nuts & Bolts, Resident Evil 5 {2009}, and Aliens: Colonial Marines {2009}.

Not to mention people tried it at E3, and they thought it kinda sucked.

Just one opinion though.

As far as Nii not having that many good games - why do you think I don't already own one? When you have to count Wii stretching as a "game"...

Honestly, I love their innovation. It's the fact that they thought motion control would be killer for bowling and didn't go for the light-saber exclusive jugular (and therefore force Sony and MS's hand at motion controllers) that makes me wonder wtf is wrong with those japanese execs? duh??

Microsoft Newton! Bleh!

Whatever. I'm gonna cut off some limbs either way.

I'll say this: Super Mario Galaxy is hands down one of the best games I've ever played, and is to the 3D Marios what SMB3 was to the old series.
Metroid Prime 3: Corruption was a great final chapter to the series. Better than 2, but not quite as original and fresh as the first, the narrative is more explicit. Its the most western of the 3 games, introducing lots of non-playable non-enemy characters to tell the story.

For those 2 games alone, I am glad I got a Wii. I'll enjoy party games and if they give me another Zelda I'll give it a shot, but My Wii was well worth it to play the continuation of 2 series that have yet to deliver a bad game. Heck, I even liked Metroid motion controls, and Mario's star collecting pointer mechanic!

Mirrors Edge seems to have a love or hate reaction from a lot of people. I was impressed with the demo, and plan to pick up after the holidays when things slow down.

Everything you've read is true.
The world looks great and it is fun to play until you get into combat, then it's ridiculous.

I played FieldRunners and the original Rock Band more than any other game this year. FieldRunners is truly the best portal game I think I've played. The second map was a bit disappointing in how easy it is even on Hard, but I still enjoy it.

If you have an iPhone or an iPod Touch and you like strategy games, this is the game to get... tapdefense is kind of fun too but not anywhere near the same quality.

I didn't? thats just crazy!

I ended up downloading field runners, and its plenty fun, but kinda easy when you can build and destory while paused, but i guess otherwise it might be impossible on touch screen to do higher levels.

Do I get paid for writing here? Yes. The only places I write and don't get paid for are forums.
