Time to Lay It on the Line, Forons

Call your Electoral Vote, Margin, and Predict the night's headline.

Electrl Vt: Obama 285: McCain 253
Pop Vt: 51-48 Obama

Obama wins all Kerry States + IA, VA, CO, NM and loses all others. Nail-biting and gnashing of teeth occur until they call PA after several hours of suspense for Obama.

Moose, I think you're right to predict a tighter result than the polls are showing, but I don't think (hope?) it's going to end up quite *that* tight.

Obama: 311
McCain: 227

Obama wins the pop. vote by 4-5%.

Senate seats for Dems: 56.

Repeat of 2004, with Obama taking Iowa and Colorado. McCain will win by 2 EV's.

What the hell, I'll be the landslide Obama guy. Call me naive, but I think the Bradley effect will be a no-show, Obama will win all of the States he's supposed to plus pick up a couple shockers with his extensive and intensive GOTV.

Obama 406
McCain 132

Senate 57 Democrats (plus Sanders and Lieberman)
41 Republicans

I call Obama on all current battlegrounds, including North Carolina, Indiana and Missouri, plus shockers in Georgia, Montana and North Dakota. Franken wins by more than expected and Obama drags Jim Martin across the finish line in Georgia for the extra Senate seat. Mostly, I'd just like to see that rat Chambliss slink away with his tail between his legs.

What I'll be watching is McConnell/Lunsford in Kentucky and Cornyn/Noriega in Texas. If Democrats can score a second upset, they'll have a fillibuster-proof majority.

Lieberman is solidly in the camp of self-interested Republicans, at this point. He's about as independent as the average Gitmo detainee (though, clearly, he has more freedom to travel). Sanders will emerge as the gadfly we need "get bit by."

I'm responding just for the fun of doing so 53 minutes earlier than the post to which I'm responding. It's kind of like tallying votes in Ohio! [Current time 7:27 p.m. CST.]

This would be a job for the admins. I'm posting (presumably) from a Wisconsin IP address and always have been. I see no reason to state that my English preference should be post-colonial. (Have I ever referred to "Neslon Mandaler?" Or "Barack Obamar?")
In some small measure, wouldn't one generally assume this to be a Wisconsin-centric site?

I'll simply say that Obama breaks 300 and gets 55% (over 65 million)--although Clinton had higher EV numbers, it would be the biggest winning percentage in 20 years.

I think that the surprise for the GOP will be keeping Florida. For the Dems, it will be picking up Georgia.

I think Florida will go Obama. If there is a shocker surprise I don't think it will be Georgia, I think it will be either Montana or North Dakota.
