Do you like to participate, or maybe just watch?
Either way, get out of the house and come to the Wis-Kino Fall Kabaret!
"Wis-Kino Fall Kabaret"
Thursday, October 11 through Saturday, October 13
Escape Java Joint and Westgate Art Cinemas
A 48-hour filmmaking challenge and collaboration. Anyone can make a film!
Thursday, October 11th: Kick-Off Screening
7pm, Escape Java Joint
916 Williamson St.; Admission $2-$6
This will be our regular monthly screening, held at our regular location. Many of the films will follow a theme - this month's theme is "Scary/Halloween." We will also be showing some short films by international Kino filmmakers. For the duration of the Wis-Kino Kabaret (Oct 11th - Oct 13th) we will be hosting guests from other Kino groups, including Canada and Louisville, Kentucky. At the end of the show, the secret theme for the 48-hour filmmaking Kabaret will be announced. This theme must be incorporated into all of the films made for the Kabaret. We'll have a brief meeting afterwards with all those who want to participate - here people can sign up, leave their contact info, skills offered, and skills needed.
Saturday, October 13th: Screening of films made in 48-hours
7pm, Marcus Westgate Art Cinema
340 Westgate Mall, corner of Whitney Way and Odana Rd.
This is the moment everyone is waiting for - the blood, sweat and tears of the filmmakers who choose to make films under the gun: the screening of all the films made in less than 48 little hours. Action, suspense, comedy, anything and everything under the sun. Bring your friends and family, but please, understand that the films are not pre-screened for content, so young children are discouraged from attending.
