Don't think anyone's mentioned The Quiet Earth (1985).

Fucking "Primer."

I've probably watched that movie 2 dozen times. I Pick up things I missed every time I watch it again.

Obligatory xkcd:

Duuuuude! I showed you this movie years ago and you hated it! I believe your words were, "Well that was fucking terrible." Glad to hear you've regained your senses.

I remember watching that with you, but don't remember thinking it was terrible (it can't be the case, because I bought it shortly after specifically to make my parents watch it). I think you might be thinking of Freebie and the Bean...

edit: Or maybe that '70s Peckinpah movie with McQueen. That was pretty craptastic.

Ah, yes, The Getaway. I'll just have to assume your memory is better than mine. Still can't believe your disdain for Freebie and the Bean but it certainly doesn't qualify for this thread, so I'll let it go.

Kongo, on the other hand, definitely does.

Fitzcarraldo

A. It's Wernor Herzog who's already crazy and makes great movies.
B. They actually dragged a real(yet small) cruise ship up a mountain for the movie.

I don't watch many movies, but Targets seemed pretty unique and damn enjoyable to me.

The Grey Fox. Richard Farnsworth was a master of understated acting.

This is a case where the film about the making of the film is way better than the film itself. Burden of Dreams is amazing--just the interview with Herzog in the jungle, about the jungle, is priceless.
