So, Are You Going to See Star Wars III?

Dude, I'm already in line!
Yes, but I'll wait until the hype has passed some.
Don't much care. Might rent it.
Not a chance. Lucas lost me with that Jar-Jar Al Jolson-acting motherfucker.
Star Wars what now?

Saw it.

There could have been at least a LITTLE character continuity. Padme went from a crack shot with a lightsaberpistolthingie to a simpering whiny little victimized bitch. Blech.

There was waay too much allusion to Iraq. i thought it was a political commentary the whole way through.

It was definitely homoerotic though, so Huzzah for the Sith!

I was fascinated by the detailing in the initial battle scene. At one point I actually saw a pilot of a downed fighter flying through space as the ship exploded. Neat. I appreciate the attention to detail.

If only they had spent some of that effort on the dialogue and story.

I enjoyed the movie thoroughly, however. Much, much better than the first two.

Okay, can I admit I cried in this movie? Both times I saw it?

Only if I don't have to admit that I also did...

...all the love&stuff between Padme and Anni...only to know what was gonna go down. It was heartwrenching...

yeah, I'm a sap. Feel free to pile on...

There's no such thing as too much allusion to Iraq until that shit is OVER and Bush is impeached and Cheney jailed because of it, IMO.

can i say, i have never seen a stars wars movie. neither has my SO--first sign that we were "meant to be". that, and our mutual love for eclectic music, wine in screwtop bottles, and assorted carcinogens.

i figure i have probably seen the equivalent of one lucas flick from all the compiled trailers and clips. but lucas creeps me out and there just have always been other things to waste my $8.00 on.

Padm© is a piece of crap. She KNOWS Anakin is beyond hope of redemption at the end, so when she ditches him it's not some sort of intervention-style "I'll be with you only if you change your ways." It's just flat-out betrayal. What a useless sack.

Other than that, I enjoyed the movie. Hadn't seen Episode II, but the connections to Episode IV were fun.

I always see Padme as sort of a 'Senatorial Barbie' or mannequin if you will...I miss her big hairdos and crazy makeup--she was scaled back this time, maybe to appear more 'motherly' , I never expected or got much emotional depth from her character...we have been watching the original three on VHS this last week or so and it is pretty cool to see how they all go together...I didn't really pay much attention to them back when they came out, I think I was 14 at the time.

Wow, different strokes I guess. I would never use the words "emotional depth" in any conversation remotely related to her character.

Saw a matinee $5.75. Ha! Anakin committed murders to avenge his mother's death in II and admitted it. He then repeated it out of twisted fear of Padme's death. I felt sick. The best parts for me was watching the Jedi.
