Revealing the color of the Canterbury Run/Walk shirts

Postby Suoiragerg » Tue Aug 09, 2005 2:49 pm

The Canterbury Run/Walk is October 9th this year! In its 14th year, the event supports Madison Area Literacy Council

http://www.madisonarealiteracy.org

Once again, one of the most tightly guarded secrets in all of Madison is what color the Canterbury Run/Walk t-shirts will be this year.

Event organizers and Literacy Council staff are sworn to secrecy. Don't even try to get any information with out a hefty donation to the literacy council (hint, hint). Even Run/Walk for Literacy sponsors Hausmann/Johnson Insurance and UW Health don't know the color of the most sought after event shirt in town!

I never said it was the most sought after secret in Madison although it should be. Just that it is well kept.

Crazy Legs gives you a cheap short sleeve white t-shirt that shrinks when you wash it. It is a fun event but the shirt is less than top quality.

You don't see folks wearing a Crazy Legs shirt from eight or ten years ago but you do see Canterbury Run/Walk shirts from that far back and further.

Over the next few weeks leading up to the October 9th Canterbury Run/Walk I will be narrowing the choices for you.

Today, I can say that the 2005 Run/Walk shirt will not be..........

(insert your own drum roll here)

Pink.

That is correct, it will not be pink.

A big sorry goes out to those that picked pink or thought pink would be a good choice. Better luck next year!

Dark Green is a wonderful color but NOT the color of the shirts for the 14th Canterbury Run/Walk for Literacy.

6 more days until Run/Walk day!

The 2005 Canterbury Run/Walk for Literacy t-shirts will be RED!

And the forecast for this Sunday's event is sunny with a high of 65.

This should be a great day for folks to help make literacy an attainable goal for everyone in our community.

I can safely say that it will not be Red in 2006. Other runs or walks may repeat the same old shirt color or go with a thin white t-shirt that shrinks down to childsize after one washing but not the Run/Walk for Literacy.

2006 color announcement on International Literacy Day, September 8, 2006.
