The wave of the future?

Salon had an interesting piece in their gossip column about the attack ad on Hillary Clinton (pro-Obama). Obama's people denied responsibility. The basic message is the the '08 campaign may find the actual campaigns without message control and just one of several voices. Ads can be created and launched from outside the US and outside the reach of McCain-Feingold (does the law even mention email and web ads?).

You Tube definitely gives local candidates the power of television that would normally be out of the reach for budget and scope of the campaign. It is no surprise that the 8th district is the home of the first two alder videos. I would assume in 2009, all the serious candidates will have their own ads up ready to email to friends and undecided voters.

THIS ARTICLE about the blogs critiquing presidential campaign videos is a pretty good read.

Who's going to be the first to critique the local ones?

From what I understand, Judge came out with the first video and Woods followed a few days later. This is pretty unique and goes to show how innovative UW kids really are.
