I just got things to the point of being able to transfer programs between the Tivo and the computer, then stopped playing around with it. Googling "burn tivo files to dvd" turns up lots of hits, but learning how to do it hasn't been important enough to me to pursue further.
I take it you've tried and couldn't do it?
Actually, it's funny. I was able to burn DVDs of TiVo files a few times, after I used this tool
to make .mpg files out of the .tivo files that get transferred by TiVoToGo. But then for some reason the process stopped working, possibly after I upgraded my version of Windows Media Player, but I can't be sure. So I was wondering if you had hit upon a method that works reliably.
As it happens, when I wanted to copy some VHS tapes to DVDs, I bought a relatively cheap DVD recorder-VCR combo unit (something like this
) and have been pleased enough. The results aren't pro quality, but they're probably good enough for Mom.
