Crane Lake @ Jenny St

I, for one, am very happy that they have given me absolutely no reason to travel to Trader Joe's.

Crane Lake at $3/bottle is just as good as Charles Shaw (the famous 3 buck chuck). The Merlot is a little sweet, but at 3 bucks, I am not going to complain.

The cab sav is as passable as Chuck.

Of course, as with both, if you don't like it, the wine is perfect for red sauce. . .

I tried their White Zin, Syrah (Shiraz? Can't remember), and a clearish-yellow one last Friday. They were really good. Not that I know anything about wine, but I do remember them tasting delicious.

Overall, I think the Crane Lake's better than the 3-Buck-Schmuck.

I concur.

The Shiraz ain't bad and, in general, I think it's better than 3-buck chuck.

Of course, what usually happens in a case like this is that it turns out that they both come out of the same big vat ;)

The Petite Sirah was pretty good to drink, and it was really good to add to some burger meat before grilling. The White Zin seemed a little too sweet and acidic - left a Sprite-like aftertaste on my tongue. Didn't get to try the Pinot Grigio, though.

(Thanks for the leftovers, monsterface :) )

I'm drinking the petite shiraz right now. a bit thin and vinegary. it's kind of piss.

I'll try drinking it faster, and see if it improves.
