So I'm just wondering, are either of these places open yet? Estimated opening date(s) anyone?

So is the new Argus now open? Did they change anything other than the name?

The new Argus is open and they didn't change the name. They updated the decor and they're serving food until midnight or 1AM. I've had a few sammiches there and they're delicious. Gwen and Rick are good folks and I recommend that y'all check the place out.

I guess that means the new owner changed his mind.

A historic Downtown bar is temporarily closing its doors, and it will reopen under a new name.

Richard Brahmer has purchased from Todd Dukes the bar business that for years has been known as the Argus, at 123 E. Main Street.

The Argus is scheduled to close after Saturday night but it was not clear when it would reopen under its new name, Tonic.

I'm just going to assume this place is never gonna happen.
