Fall Season {2007} - Spring/Summer {2008}

How can cultural elitists like ourselves put TV in the Culture category? Well, where the hell else is it going to fit?

So what series are you going to pick up and watch again and which new television series' will you give a chance?

I think I'll stick with the following;

The First 48 from which the sixth season premiered back in July.
How I Met Your Mother - Premieres Monday, September 24th
Two and a Half Men - Premieres Monday, September 24th
Rules Of Engagement - Monday, September 24th
(Bianca Kajlich makes my naughty parts tingle.)
My Name Is Earl - Thursday, September 27th
The Office - Premieres Thursday, September 27th
Everybody Hates Chris - Premieres Monday, October 1st
The Sarah Silverman Program - Premieres October 3rd
The New Adventures Of Old Christine - Returns Midseason, Date TBA

I downloaded 4 nbc pilots off amazon unbox to my tivo for free: Journeyman, Life, Bionic Woman, and Chuck.

Bionic Woman was pretty disappointing. The best thing about it was that it had battlestar galactica peeps and had BSG credits at the end.

Journeyman could go either way... it's basically Quantum Leap meets Daybreak (the short-lived, cancelled ABC show).

Life has some promise, kind of a House meets Prison Break meets The Closer, but maybe I just liked it because I am still harkening back to band of brothers when watching damian lewis.

I'm only halfway through Chuck but liking it a LOT. Highly recommended.

Buzz around the internet is that pushing daisies and reaper are worth checking out.

The Office, and ER. Is Scrubs still on? Then that one, too. TV is way down on my list of priorities but I do like those three a lot.

I suppose I might've put K-Ville on my list, if last night's premiere hadn't been completely terrible.

I watched one of CBS's new sitcoms, The Big Bang Theory, sandwiched inbetween How I Met Your Mother and Two and a Half Men, and it had some real laughs. I'll add that onto the itinerary. I just record CBS's entire Monday night primetime line-up. I hated that Everybody Hates Chris got moved from Sunday night to Monday night, since I can't record two things at once.

I gave "Chuck" a chance, it just didn't do it for me. I'm continually surprised at how many people watch all these dull half-assed hour-long dramas (LOST, Heroes, Ugly Betty, Boston Legal, all the hospital shows like ER, Grey's Anatomy, House etc.).

Has anyone seen the new show Kitchen Nightmares on Fox with foul-mouthed Chef/Restaurant-Owner Gordon Ramsay?

It's pretty entertaining. Gordon's a real confrontational asshole, but he knows how to run a tight ship and knows the importance of a clean kitchen and fresh foods.

The Office and Kitchen Nightmares. I try to watch Earl once in a while, but it's really really hard to get over the fact that I'm a bigot. I really hate that Scientology shit and it's hard to watch without thinking that.

PBS is doing the original Office that Ricky Gervais stars in instead of produces. Saturday nights. I'm recording that too.

Tried to watch Chuck's Secret. It sucks.
I tried watching The New Adventures. I made it through 2 shows. It's tripe dragged in pigshit.

Take your dull LOST/Heroes "drama" comment and stick it in your hoo-ha. LOST and Heroes are sci-fi, and they are infinitely more interesting than all that doctor-drama show ticky-tacky. Let's not forget the myriad legal-drama shows that all look just the same.

Apparently a vast majority of studio execs are castrated upon hire. It's no wonder they all jump back and forth from studio to studio. Must be hard to find a job that requires you to have no balls whatsoever. I'm still pissed that Fox cancelled Firefly.

I can't wait for "The New Adventures of Old Christine" to return midseason. That show is hi-larious.
