Yikes! My neighborhood is lousy with Forons!

Cripes, me too. Hello neighbors.

Bill, great news and congrats. I saw someone working on the windows last weekend and wondered what was up. Please do let us know when you have an opening date nailed down.

I'm going to stop stopping for pedestrians in the North street area.

I walked up there this morning and got a couple shots with my camera. Nothing special, but they give a view of the bar.

It can't be long now! :D

Looking good!

Excited to go check it out based on the beer selection.

Very much looking forward to the new bar. Packer games are just three hours a week. And you're planning on being closed Sundays anyway, right?

I live just down the street and will definitely be visiting frequently.

I've heard from a couple semi-reliable sources that the hours of operation are going to be 4pm - midnight. Are these initial "getting the bugs out" hours, or will this be the permanent state of affairs, or have I been misinformed?

Friend of mine heard the place may open Monday or Tuesday. I looked in the windows again today -- tables appear to be in place, glasses are lined up, the shades were drawn, and the AC was humming!

Why so sad? Pending inspections, the tentative opening date is Monday, June 9. :D

Two friends and I peered into the windows on Sunday afternoon to see three people inside, one of whom was drinking beer from a chalice. To our surprise, the owner, Bill, welcomed us in to look around and chat. He, his girlfriend Meg, and his friend Pat were at work at a leisurely pace and indulged us in some details. Bill's especially interested in tapping Belgian (including at least four from De Dolle) and sour beer, but also has a large cooler ready for bottles and plans to have firkins installed. The old bar (150 years old, according to Bill and Pat) and back bar are gorgeous, just gorgeous. About four to six tables line the other side of the room, with two church pews lining the wall. There will be no TVs and no food, save snacks, perhaps -- Bill wants to welcome you to order in. Music selections I remember hearing while we were there included Susan Tedeschi and Beck (both of whom I happen to love) -- the vibe will be mellow, Pat said. If I remember correctly, hours of operation will remain as Bill stated in his first post in this thread, with Sundays perhaps added later on.

See you Monday afternoon, neighbors.

OMG have I died and gone to beer heaven? :-) I just visited Dexter's for the first time Sunday and really liked the beer selection and the atmosphere there. When the Malt House opens I'll have two excellent options within a couple of blocks from my house! I am so looking forward to this summer :-) See you all there!

We went there tonight - it's open! It was great - packed, and full of great beer.

I am home now, and I am drunk.

I love our new neighborhood bar.

Decor and climate control are works in progress, but the beer is good, whether you like expensive (but worth it) Belgian beer, or more local stuff...there's some upside here...

Bill, I hope you have a moment to check in here again. A friend of mine named Jeff has been trying to contact you by phone (at the bar) and by email regarding plans surrounding the Great Taste. He's very interested in your place, but hasn't been able to reach you. It'd be so awesome if you had a moment to shoot him a note, but I understand you're busy.
