Grocery stores, recipes, cook books, CSAs, farmers' markets, organic, local, processed, corporate. It's a smorgabord!

Where can you find some actual prepared food in this town for less than a buck? And I'm not talking about Taco Bell or a side of toast, either.

Linda Falkenstein needs some wisdom of crowds on this one. Whadya got?

This summer I purchased a delicious crab rangoon at the Corner Store on Williamson for $1.

For just $.50 more you may purchase one skewer of any of the following at Kushi Muromoto:
panko fried tofu
Japanese green pepper
boiled quail egg
panko fried pork
chicken livers
chicken gizzards

And for just $.75 more:
french horn mushroom
panko fried bacon wrapped tomatoes
chicken breast

Only the beef tenderloin skewer even comes close to $3.

That place is awesome.

I didn't know that place was open already. Thanks, Elliot! When can we expect a full review?

This is true! And a bagel sans cream cheese (or a bialy) is $1.00 at Gotham.

An order of the KRUPUK BAWANG PUTIH (garlic tapioca flour chips) at Bandung are $1. Not very filling...but yummy.

We're going there tonight for the Vilas clan's monthly restaurant get-together. Got to get ready now.
