RESTAURANT XO2: Are There Gay People That Far West?

Postby blunt » Sat Nov 29, 2008 12:25 pm

It''s gonna be in the abandoned Houlihan's, the resaurant out that was in the center of a corn field out in Middleton.
You'll need a cab.
Because nobody lives out there.
And we don't need a bunch of drunken divas driving divinely at bartime.

Ummm, isn't that already happening at Club 5?

Anyway, I'm not sure of the wisdom of this location either but we'll give it a shot since we've never been very impressed with Club 5.

Why the assumption that all gay people live within a 3-block radius of the square? I know quite a few gay people who live on the west side. I work less than a mile from this place and have numerous gay co-workers, so it might be nice place to stop and gather for a drink and a bite to eat after work every now and then. More options create more business.

By the way, does anyone know what ever happened to Plan B?

I was just talking about that the other day with a friend. We have no idea, our concensus was that it just kinda faded out once the economy started taking a major nosedive.

The gays, I'm told, are everywhere now. Corporate jobs, cookie cutter suburban developments. Even Congress.

I'm also told they sometimes travel for work and since that location is located in the middle of about ten hotels and a dozen decent-sized office buildings, they might just find a constituency out there.

They went with Plan C: drink at home.

Seriously though does anyone know what "Plan B" is intended to be?

I hear they want to open up in the ex-Star Photo spot on Willy St.

Seems like a bad time to open a business.

In any case, googling it makes it seem like a gay restaurant/club of some sort. Anyone know whether it's the leather dungeon variety or hip/inclusive variety of gay establishment? Not being gay, the latter would be a possible destination for me; the former, probably not.

My opinion is that something going into my 'hood should be accessible and fun for everyone.

And besides, the former really belongs in the Monroe-Dungeon neighborhood.
