charter cable sunday troubles

How can cultural elitists like ourselves put TV in the Culture category? Well, where the hell else is it going to fit?

this has been every channel all day long on both tvs, sometimes glitching out every ten seconds, sometimes ok for five or ten minutes at a time before glitching again.
hdnet and hdnet movies have been out altogether.
i haven't had troubles like this with charter for years without it being a more widespread issue. my charter internet seems fine.

phone and chat "techs" tell me there are no alerts in my area.
they can't send someone out til tuesday.

if i miss all chances at a clean broadcast of we are one concert i will be majorly pissed off.

fucking charter.

My internet connection dropped completely in the middle of recording a podcast, luckily right as we were going to break.

Went downstairs, looked at the modem, it was flashing. I rebooted, and was back online. I might've felt better if it stayed off for a while like something was really wrong, but instead it came off and back on like charter was fucking with me. It came right at 8 PM, which immediately made me think it was automated, like I didn't pay my bill and they're turning me off, but I gave them too much of my money this week to be turned off. They not only ruined the podcast for 20 minutes while we got back to speed, they made me feel paranoid about it going off randomly for the rest of the show.

Charter going broke? I wonder why?!?

You gotta dump that Moxi for the HDMI equipped Motorola box. It's not as pretty on screen but is far far more reliable. Same price they will swap it out for you.

hmmm, i've had my moxi for a few years and this is the first time i've had a problem with it, plus i'm assuming it was something having to do with charter resetting the signal that they were having problems with.
is the new hdmi motorola box a dvr?
i mean i think moxi is a motorola product...no?

Its a DVR. At the farmhouse I lived at last year it was the difference between the thing not working at all through 4 or 5 trips out there by techs to it working perfectly. I've heard the same from others who have started having problems with the Moxi box.

I liked the Moxi's menu system etc better but actually the Motorola box I have now is a lot faster. Our Moxi wasn't holding onto the signal well. We lost our channel guide listings which then of course made the DVR completely worthless since it didn't know what was on or when. We also had about 10 days of working on demand over a 4 month period before we switched boxes.
