Live Like You Mean It....

If it's news, but not politics, then it goes here.

How about this:
"Wisconsin: It's all you can afford."

Whatever happened to the slogan that was up for consideration on our license plates a few years back "Wisconsin, come and smell our dairy air"?

If it ends up on a bumper sticker, we can expect to see the kind of anagram constructions people made by chopping up and rearranging the old "escape to wisconsin" bumper stickers.

I'll go for:

Wisconsin
yokel militia venue

Excellent. I tried various anagrams including "milk" or "kine", which seemed appropriate for America's Former Dairyland. But yours is better.

Remember "Wisconsin: You're Among Friends"? There used to be a house on South Mills St, near St Marys, with that bumper sticker on their door. Except they had cut off the "Wiscon".

The real "Escape" stickers also inspired some nice cut 'n' paste jobs, including the often-seen "ESCAPE WISCONSIN" and (much like Flounders' example immediately above) "ESCAPE TO SIN".

A guy in my hometown made my favorite, "ESCAPED CON", which required the extra-credit task of fabricating a D out of a couple of the letters that were snipped out.

I love this line.

"This is another tool we'll use to keep loyal visitors coming back, communicate why a business should relocate or expand here, and let talented employees know why they should choose Wisconsin," Doyle said.

Hands up if a slogan, for anything, has ever made you do any of those things.

Jim, you don't have to believe the smoke the ad guys puff up your skirt.

WTF is wrong with "Escape to Wisconsin"? To the point and classic.

The new slogan is dumb and the logo is hideous. This has designed by committee written all over it.

Gotta love the "if you can't draw the horses hoves draw him standing in the tall grass" look of the hands on that guy. And is he supposed to be upside down Air Jordan?

A: Oklahoma is OK.
B: Oklahoma: the circus has been here twice.
C: Oklahoma: some people say we don’t suck.
D: Oklahoma: trees are made of wood.
E: Oklahoma, Oklahoma: there, I said it twice!

Don't let PETA get wind of this, or they'll rearrange the slogan thusly,

Wisconsin: I eliminate Yuk Vole(distant cousin to the sky vole, of course).

Yeah, lately I've heard some really awful ideas at meetings, just to divert or placate the higher ups, desperate for ideas. What's worse is, they run with it!

Wisconsin, full of cow pies...
Wisconsin, not the flat lands.

There is nothing wrong with it, in fact it is perfect. People make a lot of jokes and puns with it, which just makes the slogan better known.

The new slogan is so lame, all it has going for it is the cool upside-down graphic posted earlier.

Incredibly lame, and makes me curious what they left on the table if this was the winner.

I never had a problem with "Escape to Wisconsin" - though it seemed to target out-of-staters, instead of encouraging in-state tourism/travel as well.

My simple and earnest suggestion: "Wisconsin...Enjoy"

Every time I drive down to Illinois to visit my family, I am annoyed by the sign at the border which says, "Thanks for visiting!"
Uh... I live here, thank you very much.
