Coffee, what are you drinking?

Bars, wine, beer, cocktails, drunken escapades

Coffee, what are you drinking?

Postby bitcharista » Sat May 09, 2009 9:29 am

Right now, I'm drinking a drip cup of Hawaiian black but wish I was drinking a three shot cappuccino breve at Bradbury's, getting ready to slog through the farmer's market.

What are you drinking?

Starbucks Verona
Seattle Italian or French
Sentry-Hilldale has some good Ancora
Willy Coop has good rich Columbian
Peet's, at Sundance is poor, unless I have them doctor it up with a redeye.
And some places still taste like diluted or instant!

Crushed the rest of these delicate Hawaiian beans gently with an antique potato masher.

Infusing them in funky mason jars filled with French vodka and a little bit of super fine Hawaiian sugar.

Seems like a pretty good idea to me.

In five days, I'll know for sure.

Which roaster is CoT getting their beans from? Did the barista create a blend for you?

Cool.

Hawaiian again this morning, Kauai.

Haviland, because everything, and I mean everything, tastes better in Limoges.

Two-shot cappuccino made with Just Coffee Electric Monkey Espresso. On the acidic side, but I dig it.

I'm cutting some Sanka with a couple of packets of Equal, chopping them up good...gonna sprinkle some Hills Brothers into the mix and then snort it up my nostrils until my sphincter muscles contract so tight they make my crows feet disappear.

Think this would work with Splenda and Folger's crystals?

They get their coffee from Just Coffee these days I believe.

That's right, it was Just Coffee. He explained that espresso is best when using a variety of roasts, from lighter to darker, so as to get a spectrum of flavors.

BTW, it wasn't the bean blend that CoT uses when they make their own espresso. He explained that the blend they make in-house is pricier than the whole beans that they sell in bulk. Instead he tried to get close to the same taste with the Just Coffee beans.

Organic Equal Exchange from Willy: 2/3 Bolivian regular and 1/3 combination of espresso and breakfast blend decaf, home ground, Melitta cone filter drip brewed, and served with honey and Blue Marble whole milk. Not that I'm picky...
