Um, I am pretty sure none of these beers qualify as Amber or Red (which in and of themselves are loose categories). My understanding is that the particular type of hops (American, usually Cascade), yeast, and caramel malts is what makes the American Style Amber unique from other beers. Still, I agree that Moose Drool is a top brown ale.

Yeah, there are different definitions for ambers, but I don't generally think of these when I think amber.

Newcastle is a brown ale, and Bass is a pale, but their coloring doesn't necessarily disqualify them from being described as "ambers."

WI brews are great, but this "its not as good as anything here" argument is tired. This is a brewery that has won several World Beer Cups, they know what they are doing and they do it well.

miller and bud have won awards as well..doesn't mean I go out and buy it.

Fat Tire is the Spotted Cow of Colorado...its fine, but people make a huge deal out of it, and honestly it isn't this "wonder beer" people make it out to be.

Spotted Cow tastes like crap IMO. And I love New Glarus brews. Not really sure I can say the same about the New Belgium brews I've tried, but to each their own. And to compare them to Bud or Miller is just silly.

Keep hating, I guess that's what you want to do.

Not a fan of Spotted Cow either, why is it still so damn popular? New Glarus sadly stopped making Edel Pils this year, I was told by the brewery that they rotate beers every year and that the Pils got rotated out for now. Bastards!

where was I hating? I was only mentioning miller and bud in that awards don't mean much when it comes to beer...esp. awards that you have to pay to get. Lots of good beers out there that never even compete.
You should really read my posts again and try to understand what I'm saying...or not...doesn't really much matter to me.
