As his dad still carries a lot of cache with the Padres, they might cut junior some slack... if only he can figure out how to hit.

Bill Hall last night: Two strikeouts and a bases-loaded double play ball. Mercifully out of the game by double switch after that.

HIT THE BENCH, SUCKO!

As shitty as Hall has been what about that Jason Kendall? Fucking great plays at the plate. Despite his bat and road kill face he always seems to make it worth having him in the lineup. And Trevor Hoffman. Wow that was close but he's putting up Cy Young numbers to start the season.

Nice.

Personally, I think he'll make the Brewers look stupid with that trade. He had the bad luck to usually get hurt during his few chances to actually win a job in Milwaukee, and really never got much of a shake after that.

He is 1 for 1 in his last 1 at bats. That's something I suppose. He still needs some time on the bench.

I like how the game recap says he broke out of his 1-for-27 slump with the game-winning single in the 10th. So 2-for-28 is all of a sudden a slump-beating BA? Still, nice to see him step up for once this year.

What a clutch hit! Patient, hands back, and against a right-hander no less! A long shot right in the gap. A thing of beauty.
I can't tell you how happy I was for the Crew and especially Billy Hall.
During the at-bat I was doing my best Judge Smails talking to his putter. As soon as he hit it I was off the couch.
Man, FUCK Tony LaRussa and the Cardinals. Woo!

I seem to remember Franklin Stubbs winning a game once too.

So there ya go. Baseball's all about it's "history".
Stubbs was good before he signed with Milwaukee ...

If Bill Hall would ever remember for more than a day or two that he is 10 million times better a hitter when he cuts his swing and goes to right field, he'd deserve to continue starting. Otherwise, the pine awaits.
