Favre to meet with Vikings

Postby jjoyce » Tue May 05, 2009 9:02 pm

Werder reported there is a mutual understanding that Favre will decide whether to sign with the Vikings not long after the meeting. The Vikings want Favre to fully participate in the team’s offseason minicamps and organized team activity workouts, which Favre missed last year.

I hope that if this happens, he goes all WWE at the presser. "I'm doing this for one reason and one reason only, to get revenge on Ted Thompson and the rest of the Packer front office. In fact, I challenge them to an ass-kicking-road-licking game!"

It is sad. I hope that every time he steps on the field, the Packers play "Glory Days".

I have one question-ok two: 1) What was his record at the Metro Dome?

2) What was his record in any domed stadium?

Never mind-Why would any dome team want as their QB someone who really doesn't play well in a dome?

I knew that his year with the Jets would not end well. I will admit that it ended better than I thought it would. If he really goes purple-it definitely will not end well.

If it really happens that he becomes a Viking, I'd love to hear complete and total silence as he takes the field. No cheers, no boos. Silence.

His record was pretty weak playing under a dome, but, at this stage in his life, I think Old Man Winter is a bigger foil. Dude used to be unbeatable in freezing weather.

Hey Vikes having any second thoughts on being a part of this circus? First Brett had a deadline now that never was the case. Oh and he had surgery and isn't sure if he can play but won't say that he can't and his family has rooms booked in GB for the Pack-ViQueens game. Enough media fun for you yet? Even if Favre is back AND he can play on that old operated on shoulder AND that play is better than what you have currently is it worth all the drama? This Packers fan says no it's not. Hand the ball to Purple Jesus and pray.

So Ch15 says he says he's thinking of playing for the Vikings! I'm shocked!

Bets on the eventual out-come?

A mediocre encore and a pathetic end to an otherwise stellar career. And the Brett Favre Steakhouse in Green Bay goes out of business.

Not likely. Business is, I think, pretty good.

Playing for the Jets is one thing, once he puts on the a Viking uniform he will be viewed as a traitor and I suspect business will drop as no one carries a grudge like a Packers fan.

As a Bears fan who elevated Jim McMahon onto the pantheon of Chicago greats only to see him don a Packer's jersey (and a Viking's jersey to boot) in his later years--even after his career suffered at the hands of Charles Martin--I can attest that fans learn to forgive. Granted, McMahon played for the Chargers, Eagles, Cardinals, and Browns before hobbling over to the Packer's as a back-up, but like a battered spouse, you always remember the good times.

As a Bears fan, I will relish seeing da Bears beat the skills-depleted-by-age Favre-led Vikings.

Wonder how many picks he'll throw?

Favre still owns the Bears, yet unlike him, it's just one of those things that never gets old.
He's gonna throw an interception total = his age.
