Heh - I heard "Mass Romantic" over the P.A. at a Mallards game last summer and it reminded me of how much I like that album and how different they are now. I like all of their albums but the first one (and to a lesser degree, the second one) are the ones with the truly-awesome-always-fun-to-hear songs (no matter what Kyle may think).

Here's my current rundown this week...

* Jay-Z - The Blueprint III - pretty awesome.

* Monsters Of Folk - All of the non-Connor Oberst songs are great. Connor Oberst needs to get through puberty real bad.

* Kurt Vile & The Violators - Kind of cool, definitely very classic rock, though I liked him better when it was just him.

* Marty Robbins - Gunfighter Ballads & Train Songs - Woo!

* Kid Cudi - Man On The Moon - Not as fun as I thought it'd be, but cool.

* Reigning Sound - Love & Curses - Wow! This is shaping up to be one of my favorite albums this year.

If only "The Story of My Life" were the story of my life.

*sigh*

This album is at least 10 times better than Mass Romantic.

Thank you for reminding me to get off my ass and go the the record store. I have a framed promo flat of that record but haven't had a copy of the actual record for years.

Yes, I used the noun "record" and I refuse to stop using the noun "record".

I'll see your Marty Robbins and raise you 4 Buckaroos. I picked up a 2 CD record set of Buck Owens last spring that's so cool.

Get offa my lawn, you damn kids!!!

"Who's Gonna Mow Your Grass" baby?

If you've got the means to play actual LPs track down the Buckaroos' solo records.

Listened to last night:

Julie London - Julie Is Her Name Vol. 2
Ernie Kovacs presents Buddy Weed
Wilco - AM
Web Wilder - Hybrid Vigor

You are most welcome, walter.

ssT, they were a tonic for my soul. How screwed up would we all be if not for beautiful ugly ssT? We'd all be listening to Limahl or something.

I'm listening to the "In My Arms" remixes from Mylo, a guy who not only makes terrific-sounding records but seems like a pretty cool customer.

"He attended the University of Edinburgh before graduating in philosophy, psychology and physiology from Brasenose College, Oxford, where he achieved a first level degree. He subsequently gave up studying for a philosophy Ph.D at UCLA to return home and produce music. Mylo released his debut album, Destroy Rock & Roll in 2004, on the Breastfed Recordings label, which he co-owns. Mylo produced the album on a computer in his own bedroom."
