Coffee, what are you drinking?

Bars, wine, beer, cocktails, drunken escapades

You folgers drinkers are so below me.

Anyway, I've been into chai lately. Not the powdered mix, the real stuff. I'm wondering what alcohol would be a good addition to an iced chai. Any thoughts?

Just drink Voyant and be done with it in one bottle.

I might as well confess. I buy it five pounds at a time from these folk. It lasts about four months.

I've tried to stop. I can't.

Try this.

Apple Jacked : Hot caramel apple cider with two shots espresso. Magically delicious.

Now that I have free reign behind the counter, I'ma have to try this. We've been selling a lot of hot apple cider recently.

I've fallen in love with the miel this week. We're in full blush.
Honey+cinnamon+espresso+steamed milk = heaven.

Cargo Coffee !!!

Postby Bwis53 » Thu Dec 03, 2009 4:00 pm

I'm still in love with a nice robust Red Eye. I am newly in love with Cargo Coffee's cupcakes (!), newly in. Absolutely seductive, with a delightful afterglow. I actually bought a second cupcake. Oh, so naughty, but oh, so nice.

Bought some dark roast estate grown Kona while in Hawaii. It's in the freezer, as I gotta finish the stuff I bought in Costa Rica first.

Henry Vilas,
you're not supposed to keep coffee in the freezer. Just keep it cool and dry and it'll be better off.
As far as what I drink? Trader Joe's, Alterra, Just Coffee, Steep & Brew, whatever is convenient at the time to buy. But this place consistently has, imo, the best stuff: http://www.metropoliscoffee.com/
Owners are Madisonians originally too. I've ordered online, but hear they are stocked at Whole Foods (where I rarely shop).

Was given a pound of their Redline Espresso for Xmas last year and supremely enjoyed it.

Drinking a chai latte with 3 shots of Alterra Punch in the Face this morning. Not a bad way to start a day.

Had a moca, at Borders West, after the storm. It was so smooooth, and so yummy. Seems like it had a hint of vanilla also. It left me wanting seconds.

There are several schools of thought about that, even among the coffee growers.

The way it's been explained to me, freezing doesn't hurt but going in and out of the freezer does. If the coffee is left in the freezer, without light, and there's a little give in the packaging so it can offgas just a bit, it'll be fine. But once it's out of the freezer, leave it out and keep it out of the light.

So you freeze coffee you won't grind within the next couple weeks and keep your current stash at room temp in a dark airtight container.

Those folks recommend freezing it in one-week containers but I've found no problems using freezer bags that hold two or three weeks' worth.
